Dwindling Summer

I can't believe my vacation is almost over before I start to blog about it. We've been in Canada since the middle of June and only one word can sum it up: Fabulous!

It's so wonderful to watch my kids with my parents. Even when Little Fish is being a brat, they are good with him. Little Fish's bratty sessions are getting fewer and farther between, luckily. Maybe it's all the attention? He loves the yard, and is in the sandbox daily. Even Meggie loves the yard, but has tasted grass and prefers laying on it to sucking on it!

Laying in the garden on Canada Day

It's nice to get to know my nephew as well. Jake is absolutely adorable, and he and Cupcake keep each other entertained, until she rolls on top of him and squishes him anyway! It's amazing how much both of them have changed in six short weeks!

Whispering Cousins

Little Fish is in swimming lessons and he is loving it. They end tomorrow and I'm very sad for him. Luckily we have the beach in Japan, but it's not quite the same. Luckily there might be people there when we go back in August, since "official beach season" will be on. Usually it's just me and the kiddos. We hung out with a friend and her very cool friends on the Redneck Riviera and Little Fish had the best time ever. He has no fear of the water at all- he regularly goes a lot further at swimming lessons than he is supposed to. It's making me scared!

We went out to the lake with some friends as well and that was awesome. Just an idyllic setting with great friends and good food. You can tell I am no longer a first time parent because as soon as Little Fish got his head stuck in the gate I ran for the camera before running for help. ;)

Relaxing all cool

Next week we are on to BC. I'm excited for the kids to play on the same beach I played on as a kid. But our vacation will be over far too soon and I'll be missing my parents again.

Awww- great pics. I was wondering if you would post from Canada. The kids are looking adorable. I love the pic of the two babies together. Sounds like a great summer. Enjoy BC :)

I'm so glad you posted! I was starting to think you'd gotten lost in the depths of Canada. The kids are gorgeous, as always.

You're probably back in Japan already. Hope the rest of the holiday went well.

That crab sandpit is great. And gotta love babies in bumbos. I think Ryu is close to being able to sit in his. Maybe another couple of weeks.

Safe travels home if they aren't over already.
